Achieve your Career Dreams with PG Courses of CDAC

Beginning your Journey with PG Courses of CDAC

Some quick bites about this article

The content is all about PG courses of CDAC and how to proceed towards achieving your big career dreams while studying and upgrading technical skills to match Industry Expectations.

CDAC was set up in 1988, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is a scientific society of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, carrying out Research and Development (R&D) in the field of IT, electronics, and associated areas. As an institution for high-end R&D, C-DAC has been at the forefront of the IT revolution in the country, constantly building capacities in emerging technologies, and innovating and leveraging its expertise to develop and deploy IT products and solutions for diverse sectors. Presently C-DAC ACTS is offering Post Graduate Diploma courses through its centers located in Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, Patna, Pune, Silchar and Thiruvananthapuram, including few ATC's like Institute for Advanced Computing and Software Development (IACSD). Each year, thousands of students are trained at these centers, enhancing their knowledge base and equipping them with the latest methodologies in advanced computing to make the most in the IT industry. The PG-DAC course has been running effectively for 25 years so far more than 3 lakh students have passed out from C-DAC. Many of them are successful employees of multi-national and premier Indian IT companies today, and many more have become booming entrepreneurs. C-DAC's Post Graduate Diploma courses are full-time courses of 900 hours (approx. 26 weeks with 100% placement assistance). Institute for Advanced Computing and Software Development (IACSD)Akurdi a well-known and prominent Institute that offers preparatory course for c-cat, PG-DAC, PG-DBDA & PG-DITISS courses.

Irrespective of any academic background these courses are for students from CS/IT or Non-CS/IT as well, these courses offer some in-depth and exhaustive learning which assists you to master your technical knowledge more than what is included in the PG-Courses syllabus.

Beginning of the course, let it be any module or any basic programming skills, always study the curriculum. If you are from different background, at least try and attempt to comprehend any unfamiliar terms by searching them on Google (Not in depth at the beginning). As a result, it will help you comprehend the course material better and make you comfortable. You are advised to listen to the mentors and focus on the points they have stressed to follow.

The first and foremost most crucial piece of advice is to simply go over what was taught that day. You may whine about not having enough time, but in addition to the practicals, you must set aside an hour or two to read over the current themes. Many students will put off studying material they don't fully grasp until later or while getting ready for their placement. There will be no later time, I assure you. Everything you need to do must be done immediately.

I can testify on the superior teaching standards compared to many other government and private engineering institutes. Can't speak about comparisons with IITs or NITs. That would be like contrasting apples and oranges. Teachers will be available to answer questions That doesn't mean, however, that you should be eager and continually ask the faculty for everything, or that your questions should be silly or insignificant. Just reconsider what you did, consult your friends, do some research online, and then talk to the teacher (My Tip). Whether you have questions or not, a good strategy is to simply approach the teacher's desk where everyone else is asking questions.

Always look for extra information than your classmates. Everyone in your class is being taught the same material as you are, but in order to stand out from the crowd, you must be a little different. Always ask WHY you are studying this technology, what it is used for, how it differs from alternatives, what alternatives there are, where it fits in the overall scheme of things, etc. It is pointless to try to learn material specifically for the placements if you cannot provide answers to these questions.

The following are the points that you can explore from several sources. Many sources of information include teachers; books provided by CDAC; online forums such as Stack Overflow; and most importantly, technology documentation. Do not take what you read from the sources at face value. If most sources say the same thing, only you can be sure that what you have researched and understood is correct.

Since this course is all about development, having only theoretical knowledge and understanding will not be helpful. Therefore, one must be very active toward achieving perfection through practical and experimental outcomes. The faculty give students assignments to complete in the lab, but most of the time, not every question in the assignment covers every concept discussed in the lecture. Therefore, constantly strive to build it in some way, or look for an optimized implementation on GeeksForGeeks or another source.

When it comes to the first stages of coding, non-IT students have difficulty with both basic and advanced programming throughout the CDAC's introductory phase. Therefore, they must exert greater effort than pupils with IT backgrounds. The night labs are also available for all the students who are willing to stretch for some extra hours and complete their assignments.

After you have learned the fundamentals of the C programming language, they will ultimately expose you to each of the topics of the syllabus. During the first two months, you will most likely try to adjust to the CDAC's schedule and become ready to run using the CDAC rapid training system. Students need to understand that the course is very fast-paced and exhaustive, one should start learning from day one, there is no tomorrow all happens the same day.

By this point, practically everyone has settled in and has begun to like coding. Even when you start working for more than 12 hours a day, you will undoubtedly appreciate it. In classrooms, lab sessions, and elsewhere, people initiate technical discussions. It would be wise for you to begin developing your aptitude at this time because you won't have enough time afterward. During this stage of the CDAC course, you'll meet more people who can help you with your assignments, solve your problems, and argue with you about technical issues. People can develop their own unique groups, such as in your engineering. Your professional career will develop as a result of these ties.

You should have completed almost all of your CDAC modules by this stage. You'll spend a lot of time creating the project documentation. You should also be ready for the CDAC end module exam (CCEE), which you must pass to take part in placements. Remember one important thing you have to give equal weightage to all the modules when you prepare for CCEE/Project/Placements/Programming. The CCEE scores are a true reflection of your knowledge that you have acquired in the past six months. The marks decide the fate of your career and opportunities you receive in the CCPP.

CCPP

The placement procedure begins right away following your CCEE exam. First of all, all companies are visiting as a part of the common campus placement procedure (CCPP), which gives every institute's student an equal chance to be hired by the companies of their choice. The process for common campus placement is an activity which is systematic and scientific. The cherry on top is the placement support offered by C-DAC and the tireless efforts of the Placement officers and coordinators. The students get benefitted maximum from the activity as each one can appear for a maximum of 30-35 companies. Some of the companies have offered around 25 lacs to the selected students. The average salary is around 8lacs in the pune region.( The views have been collated after speaking with CDAC students )

You can suggest to other interested students to join Pre-CAT course in the upcoming batches in best cdac institute.
